SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE
I am an expert in Project preparation and Financial and Social
Cost Benefit Analysis of projects, Project Management and
Accounting; Management Accounting and Development Economics
Research I am also a trainer in UNDP Financial reporting and
Accounting procedures.
I worked for National Commission for
Development Planning as an Economist and Project Analyst for seven
years in the Project Preparation and Evaluation Unit of the
Investment Planning and Research department and Economic and
Technical Cooperation Department where I gained core experience in
Project preparation and Financial and Social Cost Benefit Analysis
of projects; undertook Sector studies; wrote Economic reports and
Government position papers for high level Government to Government
meetings.
Whilst studying in England, I gained exposure
to private consulting firms such as QDM Consulting and worked as a
Project Officer (part time), for Milray Industrial Limited a
Mutende International Limited Subsidiary with a diverse portfolio
in Zambia.
I worked for the United Nations Development Programme as Deputy
Project Manager for two and a half years where I gained valuable
experience in Project Accounting and Management.
I was Chief Accountant for Unified Chemicals
and an Interim Manager (which was my major assignment) for Zambezi
sawmills for about one year where I gained exposure to using Sun
Accounting package, Managing taxation matters among others, and a
large work force.
I worked for Ministry of Finance and Economic
Development for a year in the Loans and Investment department
where I gained exposure in dealing with the Zambian privatisation
process and National Debt Management issues.
I am currently a freelance Consultant; I have
undertaken a number of studies, some of which include the
"Newspaper Readership Survey" for Daily News in Harare
this year. I was also a Consultant for United Nations Conference
on Trade and Development, Geneva where I undertook and submitted a
study on "National Policies for Growing Small and Micro
Enterprises in Less Developed Countries, a case study for Zambia
in 1998.
I have used microcomputers since 1984 when I undertook a course
in Computing using BASIC language as part of his Master of Science
programme. I also have a working knowledge of spreadsheets; COMFAR
(UNIDO's Computer Model for Feasibility Analysis and Reporting),
PROSPIN (UNIDO's Financial Analysis program), and Sun Accounting
package.
